Aside from just entertaining there is a little bit of learning too- a couple of somewhat uncommon animals are 'featured'. I got this for my 3 y/o. I highly recommend it for 2.5 and up (probably to at least 5.). It's in very heavy rotation in our house and I actually don't mind that fact. We love the book. Fun to read, a very cute story and the pictures are pretty good.
My son loves when I read the dialogues in different voices. This is sure to be a favorite for some time to come and if I could recommend one book to new parents, it would be this one. My son is now seven months old, and being that his mom is an avid reader, he has quite the extensive personal library already. For a child so young, a book of this length usually fails to hold interest by the half way point, but "the Bear books" are the exception to the rule.Hands down this book is the most fun to read and I do so at least three or four times a week, without getting sick of it. Highly recommended. Without question Karma Wilson's Bear Snores On is my very favorite of all the books to read on my kid's shelves (along with Bear Wants More). The rhymes, cadences, and repetition are nothing short of perfect--and the illustrations are fabulous as well.
This book is truly a joy and is a must-have for any child's library. I get really into the emotion of the book and it's so fun to watch their faces as I read. I have a 4 year old and a 2.5 year old, and this is their FAVORITE book. I also love it, it is so fun to read it to them.
As more and more little animals gather there, their plan to warm themselves turns into a party with tea, popcorn, honey nuts, and other assorted goodies. We can pop more corn and brew more tea."I love the rhyme and the alliteration. We checked it out from the library, but I'm tempted to purchase my own copy.

I love this book, and my 21-month-old does too. A fleck of pepper meant for a stew causes a sneeze that wakes up the bear, and the bear's growly anger belies some hurt feelings. And the illustrations are precious.
I love the story, which is about how one by one, some little woodland creatures stumble upon a cozy cave in which a bear is snoozing. All of this goes on while the bear is still sleeping.
It would be one of my top 3 books and I used to be a pre-school teacher so I know tons of books for this age group. I started reading this before my son could even sit up and I hope to continue until he is tired of it. Happy reading. Lets face it when you are reading to a child under 2 who in some cases is difficult to pin down for a book, its nice to find one they will sit through that you enjoy reading over and over again. I have all kinds of voices for the characters now and if its a good thing for a book to be a little worn out, than trust me our copy looks loved.
